Despite the hot and humid weather and the rain that ultimately washed out the final few innings of the ladies game, this year's All Star games were an overwhelming success. The West Men's All Star team beat the East 7-5 with the Dave Size voted as game MVP. In the ladies game, the West also prevailed 15-14 with Carly Robertson voted as the game MVP. The Boston Pizza Home Run Derby was won by Brandon Rogers for the men and Carly Robertson for the ladies.

The raffle grand prize of a $360 gift certificate to Lavish Salon and Spa was not claimed at the ball park. If you are the holder of ticket 582967, please contact Jay Davis at jdavis@somcan.com to collect your prize. 

The real winner of the day was the Canadian Cancer Society as the league raised more than $5000 towards "Striking Cancer Out" 

Thanks to all who volunteered their time, those who donated prizes and services, those who participated in the game and those who came out to watch and support a very worthwhile cause. And a very special and heartfelt thank you to Ted Boggs who put in countless hours to make sure the day was a success.
